Position Overview
Khalifa University Centre of Autonomous Robotic Systems is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join its interdisciplinary team working on vision-based applications for space environments, which is focused on the development of vision-based solutions for various applications targeted for space environments. This project is part of a larger effort to advance planetary exploration through innovative vision-based techniques.
Position Requirements
Develop Computer Vision and Deep Learning algorithms for the robotic space platforms.
Support the deployment of developed neuromorphic perception algorithms for autonomous navigation of space robotic systems.
Support the deployment of the developed perception system strategic manufacturing sectors of the UAE.
Publish the research findings in reputable conferences and journals.
Support graduate and undergraduate students conducting relevant research projects.
Adhere to the University\'s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly
Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager
Qualifications
Candidate Profile
Essential Criteria
Ph.D. in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field.
Strong expertise in deep learning and computer vision.
Experience with vision sensor setups and data collection.
Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of research publications.
Desired Criteia
PhD gained from and/or experience working in a top 200 QS or THE ranked University
At least 1-2 years of relevant experience as a researcher in academia or in industry
Experience contributing to high impact publications in top 10% journals in the relevant field
