About the job Policy and Compliance Manager (Temporary)Our client is a retail organization and operates multiple branches including hypermarkets and malls in the UAE, \xef\xbb\xbffollowing the best international practices in the retail sector.\xef\xbb\xbfWe are looking for a Policy & Compliance Manager for a 6-month contract (extendable based on performance) who will be leading the development, coordination, and management of the organizations policies and procedures and ensure that all policies are compliant with relevant regulations and aligned with the companys strategic objectives and effectively guiding the policy formulation process and ensure that policies are clear, consistent, and comprehensive.Only candidates with their own visas (family-sponsored visa, freelance visa, or golden visa) will be contacted.\xef\xbb\xbf\xef\xbb\xbfResponsibilities:
  • Lead the creation, revision, and documentation of policies and procedures across all departments.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with departmental heads to understand specific needs and ensure policies align with organizational goals, objectives, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify gaps and overlaps within policies or within the organization that may have been overlooked, or redundancies in policies.
  • Ensure all policies are consistent, clear, and adhere to industry best practices.
  • Stay informed of changes in legal and regulatory requirements, and update policies as necessary to maintain compliance.
  • Evaluate policies against relevant industry best practices to ensure alignment with current standards and trends.
  • Assess policies to ensure they are written in clear, understandable language and maintain consistency to avoid confusion and contradictions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between departments during the policy formulation process, offering ongoing support and advice regarding policy interpretation and compliance issues.
  • Oversee the documentation process for all policies and procedures, ensuring they are clearly written, easily accessible, and regularly updated.
  • Provide guidance to departments to ensure compliance with policies and ensure the smooth implementation of policies.
  • Manage the approval process for new or revised policies, working with senior management and relevant stakeholders, and overseeing version control.
  • Lead initiatives to continuously improve the organizations policy and compliance framework, encouraging feedback from employees and departments to enhance policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with legal and external advisors as needed to ensure policy documents meet regulatory and internal standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, auditors, and external partners on policy compliance matters.
  • Foster relationships with internal stakeholders to promote a culture of compliance awareness.
  • Meeting with External / Internal/Legal Consultants to accomplish the requirements.
  • Meetings with various Divisions/ Department Directors and related staff for inquiries as and when required.\xef\xbb\xbf
Qualifications:
  • \xef\xbb\xbf\xef\xbb\xbfMaster/ Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Law, Public Policy, or a related field. A Masters degree or certification in compliance management is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in policy development, compliance, or a related field, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or management role.\xef\xbb\xbf
  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in policy management. Knowledge of latest business trends and techniques development. Proficiency in policy management tools and software.\xef\xbb\xbf
  • \xef\xbb\xbf\xef\xbb\xbfGood planning and organizing skills.
  • Ability to respond in unplanned and unforeseen circumstances.
  • Policy Writing skill Analytical & problem solving skills.
  • Strong command over English Language (other regionally spoken languages would be an added advantage)
