:Wood is presently looking to hire a PMC Project Manager to join our team in Abu Dhabi. Below are more details about this position.Job Objective:Create delivery excellence across assigned project/portfolio, provide certainty and confidence to the customer/project sponsor, and robust control of project scope, schedule, cost and risk.Specifies and coordinates the implementation and completion of a moderate sized Onshore EPC brownfield projects, portfolio of small projects, or a major component of a large project. This includes responsibility for safe delivery, ensuring that quality, schedule, and cost targets are met and for managing the associated risk. Responsible for delivery of project to agreed specifications, for managing change and customer relationships, and ensuring appropriate reporting and governance is adhered to and controlled.Responsibilities:Project Execution:
  • Directs and manages an EPC project (multiple EPC Packages) in a manner that achieves project requirements for safety, quality, engineering, schedule, construction, and cost management.
  • Ensure compliance with Company\'s objectives, requirements, priorities, policies, procedures, standards, rules, regulations and guidelines provided by Company from time to time.
  • Take necessary corrective action to align project back on track in case of deviations from plans (cost, schedule, quality, HSE, performance, operability, maintainability, etc.).
  • Minimize as much as possible the change orders/variations. Minimize and mitigate the disputes with the contractors.
  • Prepare, supervises and approves the development of PEP, and its implementation plus ensuring Lessons Learned are properly documented throughout the life of the project including Project Close-out
  • Liaise and coordinate with Contractors, Project Engineering Team Leader, Procurement Engineer, Interface Engineer, Safety Advisor, Quality Engineer, Discipline Engineers, Subcontractors, Lead Project Control Engineer, Fabrication Engineer, Construction & Commissioning Engineers
  • Monitor day to day activities through weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress meetings, Subcontractors and Vendors to facilitate achievement of targets. Slippages and backlogs shall be identified, and action plans formulated to keep the project on schedule.
  • Identify project risks and recommend ways to mitigate them.
  • Provide technical and commercial inputs and review contract/tendering documentation to ensure a thorough understanding of requirements; participate and direct the preliminary planning stages as necessary.
  • Participate in preparation of Construction related workshops, Method statements, Risk Assessments and HSE Workshops.
  • Review, optimize and approve the work of mobilization teams to ensure that all necessary activities are covered with actions properly assigned, timescales agreed, and relevant parties properly briefed with communication.
  • Execute the project in line with the delivery schedule, contract specifications and conditions.
  • Shutdown planning with COMPANY overall shutdown.
  • Develop project management / engineering / construction organization charts and mobilization schedules.
  • Promote an environment for building team morale and build consent within the team
  • Contributes to and reviews the project proposal and plan to determine timeframe, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project. Contributes to setting project evaluation parameters
  • Negotiates changes to project scope or specification with the customer. Follows Change Management process to identify and approve modifications to scope, cost, schedule and quality
  • Pursue and develop opportunities for innovation, such as digitalisation and technology use
  • Establishes project procedures and leads production of project execution plan including the scope of work, deliverables list, master schedule, budget, org charts, risk register etc
  • Regularly reports project progress to PMT and senior management as applicable
  • Reponsible for delivery of agreed schedule and financial performance, proactively intervening to avoid slippage
  • Ensures competence of project team members to carry out assigned work
  • Leads ongoing focus on risk identification and mitigation during project execution
  • Responsible for the project HSSE leadership, ensures a program of initiatives and auditing schedule are established and that HSSE and quality management issues are proactively addressed
  • Guides and directs a multidiscipline project team, which may include external specialists and involve staff from multiple offices and sites
  • Responsible for ensuring project team members are competent to carry out assigned duties
  • Promotes and sets up performance improvement culture and actions on complex projects and into their supply chains
  • Facilitates the set up of information management systems / applications as applicable to suit various life phases of projects and manage information management project team
  • Participate in assurance activities and peer reviews

Qualifications:Experience, Skills and Knowledge
  • Bachelor\'s degree in engineering from an accredited university with minimum twenty (20+) years in execution of EPC contracts of onshore Oil & Gas
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position for international major (more than 1Billion US$) Onshore Oil & Gas EPC projects including minimum (5) years in GCC region.
  • Must have significant experience as a Project Manager in brownfield EPC Onshore projects that includes detailed engineering, procurement, construction, precommissioning and provision of assistance and supervision during start-up and commissioning
  • Must have experience to interface with relevant Stakeholders / Site Operation team / EPC Contractors during onshore installation.
  • Must have EPC Contract management, planning, budget, schedule, management of change (MOC), Selection of Contractors, Pre-qualification of Bidders, preparation of scope of work, preparation of ITT Packages, EPC Contract Bid Evaluations and Technical recommendation of Procurement of Long lead items.
  • Site visits as needed during critical activities, shutdowns, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, Start-up and HSE Leadership Visits.
  • Engineering degree in any discipline
  • Good level of experience and exposure in ADNOC Onshore projects
  • Proven project management experience as well as a good understanding of business issues
  • Thorough understanding of project management techniques and practices
  • Thorough understanding of project goals, drivers and strategies
  • Experience of developing and implementing measures of success and benefits on several projects
  • Knowledge of prioritising stakeholders and the development of stakeholder management plans
  • Has interfaced with key stakeholders on projects to obtain, create and maintain requirements and acceptance criteria on several occasions
  • Good knowledge of industry and company risk management processes. Well versed in qualitative assessment methods and some knowledge of quantitative assessment techniques
  • Able to use common estimating techniques to derive estimates and costs on standard projects
  • Good knowledge of EPC contract models, conditions, types and their suitability in different situations
  • Able to deliver effective project initiation on multi-phase projects and produce project execution plans
  • Well versed in international and company quality assurance standards
  • Knowledge of EPC commercial and contract conditions applicable to the procurement of various types of goods and services
  • In-depth knowledge of scheduling techniques, their properties and uses
  • Good knowledge and experience in project monitoring and forecasting
  • Ability to manage change control process on project with several sub-contractors and interfaces
  • In-depth knowledge of all types of project information (deliverables) and its uses and capable of managing information management project team
  • Good knowledge of all handover and close-out activities required for customer, company and suppliers
  • Understanding of Cash Flow management as well as projection/forecast of cost at completion
