The Lead Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines. This role demands a strong background in project controls, planning tools, and experience in pipeline construction projects.Key Responsibilities
Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring they align with contractual requirements and project objectives.
Monitor project progress and identify potential delays, providing proactive solutions to mitigate risks.
Work closely with project management, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to integrate and coordinate schedules across all project phases.
Prepare and present progress reports, including critical path analysis, earned value analysis, and forecast updates.
Conduct schedule risk analysis and provide recommendations to minimize potential impacts on project timelines.
Ensure compliance with planning and scheduling standards and guidelines, tailoring them to project-specific requirements.
Lead planning and coordination meetings, facilitating communication between stakeholders and ensuring schedule alignment.
Manage and oversee the planning and scheduling activities of contractors and subcontractors, ensuring they meet project requirements.
Track project milestones, key deliverables, and timelines, ensuring accountability across all teams.
Utilize planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) to manage schedules effectively and provide accurate data-driven insights.
Support the change management process by evaluating the impact of proposed changes on the project schedule.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 10-15 years of planning and scheduling experience, with at least 5 years in Oil & Gas pipeline construction projects.
Experience in a PMC environment is highly desirable.
Skills:
Proficiency in planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
Strong analytical skills, with experience in critical path and earned value analysis.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder collaboration.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
