The Role

Our International Main Civil Contracting client has a new requirement for a well experienced Planning Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on new residential towers project in the Emirate. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Planning Engineer on Major high rise projects in the UAE and have a proven track record of working in recognised main contractor companies in the UAE previously. This role is available for immediate joining and is a direct hire, permanent opportunity employed by our client. Key Responsibilities: o Involved in planning and monitoring of all activities within the Engineering projects programs. o Assist in analyzing project specifications and finding cost-effective ways to achieve the deliverables. o Prepare the baseline program, schedules, milestones and deliverables as per project management plan. o Prepare full projects portfolio plan (80 plus projects) in coordination with project managers and vendors. o Analyzing technical drawings and providing durations and milestones and overall project plan accordingly. o Prepare look ahead plan for the execution team. o Generate and update progress report of the project in a weekly or monthly basis. o Able to do critical path analysis at project, program and portfolio levels o Prepare forecasted cash flow for projects and portfolio and report on actual Vs Planned spends and progress. o Identifying the project program risks and propose mitigation strategies. o Monitor the cash flow and tracking schedule of the project. o Prepare forecasts resulting from significant deviations from scheduled baselines. o Tracking and analyzing field results based on the planned progress and actual progress. o Determined and develop the most suitable methods for the projects. o Involve throughout the development stage of the projects and present at site during construction phase to oversee procedures. o Estimate a timescale for the projects and ensure that the outlined deadlines are met. o Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills. o Analysis and Reporting -Prepare various strategies for all planning activities for projects and portfolio. o Ensure accuracy for all operational requirements for projects and achieve all project objectives



Requirements

Planning Engineer Experience: o Degree in Civil Engineering (4 years course) o Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Office, MS Project, and fluent English. o Ability to set up WBS structures, updating of program, resources loading of schedules, preparation of reporting, S curve etc. o Minimum 6 years in civil construction, with previous experience in residential High-rise tower construction projects preferably in UAE. o Adaptability, ability to work under pressure, accepting to change, managing change at work. o Should have good leadership skills & team spirit. o Ability to generate and promote creative & innovative ideas.
