Job Title: Senior Planning Engineer + Planning Engineer

Role Purpose:

To oversee project planning, scheduling, and coordination to ensure timely and efficient completion of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Active support to planning manager in the department functions and in the coordination of planners.
• Prepare the Baseline Program based on the requirements of the contract.
• Prepare the method statement to accompany the Baseline Program.
• Prepare various schedules based on the Baseline Program, such as:-

Submittals & Approvals Schedule

Materials order placing schedule

Subcontractors Appointment Schedule

Resources histograms

Cash flow curve

Progress curve

Major plant schedule

• Prepare interim Programs, as applicable/required (e.g Workplans & Look ahead schedules, detailed Program for a package, close out Program etc.)
• Actively participate in subcontract management - with "direct & control" functions of planning - in order to achieve project's overall targets.
• At most focus expected is to "direct" the project team on critical path and in areas to accelerate/recover, by formulating strategic plans with the Project Manager & construction team.
• To maintain and record on a regular basis site progress and update the Baseline Program accordingly.
• To prepare 15/30 day 'look ahead' Programs.
• To ensure the timely appointment of subcontractors and materials suppliers in accordance with the control schedules.
• Conduct Delay Analysis - in guidance of the planning manager and in co-ordination with the commercial department
• To ensure compliance with the agreed Program and coordination schedules by all parties, particularly where such schedules are concerned with the flow of submittals/approvals and information requirements.
• Monitor Subcontract progress and Manpower deployment.
• Conduct Subcontract Progress Meetings, and if needed, Subcontractor Co-ordination meetings with Construction team.
• To coordinate and integrate subcontractors Programs within the Baseline Program and insure compliance with the Program requirements.
• Prepare progress reports
• Advise the project manager of progress slippage to activities for corrective action.
• Implement Productivity tracking mechanism in the project and evaluate results with the planning manager. Monitor Labour productivity and analyze reasons for deviations.

Requirements:

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Candidates with PMP certification will be preferred.

Minimum Experience:

• 12+ years of experience in planning in the main contracting company in UAE.
• Must have experience in working on high rise building projects in UAE.

Languages:

• MUST know at least one of the following languages (hindi, urdu, malayalam, tamil, kannada).
