Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Engineer with expertise in Primavera P6 software to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the planning, scheduling, and progress tracking of civil engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The role involves using Primavera P6 to develop, monitor, and update project schedules, provide analytical reports, and assist in managing project resources effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Planning & Scheduling:
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with the overall project objectives and timelines.
• Work with project teams to define project deliverables, milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Prepare and update baseline schedules, incorporating design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with various departments (design, procurement, construction) to gather project information and ensure schedule alignment.
• Progress Monitoring & Reporting:
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project stakeholders regarding schedule status, potential delays, and corrective actions.
• Perform critical path analysis and highlight any risks or issues that may impact project timelines.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports to track project progress against the baseline schedule, and provide forecasts on completion dates.
• Identify schedule deviations and recommend corrective actions or mitigation strategies.
• Resource Management:
• Track resource allocation and utilization across various project activities, ensuring efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials.
• Assist in resource leveling and balancing workload to avoid conflicts or delays.
• Risk Management & Mitigation:
• Analyze potential risks to the project schedule and work with project managers and engineers to develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Update the project schedule as necessary to reflect changes, delays, or unforeseen circumstances.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders:
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure that schedules are realistic and achievable.
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals, bids, and tenders with accurate time estimates and scheduling details.
• Documentation & Record Keeping:
• Maintain a well-documented schedule history, including updates, changes, and approvals.
• Ensure all planning-related documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in planning and scheduling methodologies.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of project planning processes and tools.
Qualifications:
• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in planning and scheduling in the civil engineering industry, with a strong focus on project scheduling.
• Proven experience in using Primavera P6 software for project planning and scheduling.
• Experience in handling large-scale civil projects such as roads, bridges, infrastructure, or construction projects.
• Technical Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, with the ability to develop, update, and monitor complex project schedules.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling concepts, including critical path method (CPM), resource leveling, and delay analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with project management software and techniques.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Certifications (optional but preferred):
• Primavera P6 certification.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar project management certifications.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED9,000.00 per month
