The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As a key member of our oil and gas Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Maintenance (EPCM) division, you will play a vital role in the planning and execution of projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget. Your expertise will contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale oil and gas projects, and you will collaborate with various stakeholders to optimize project performance and efficiency. Responsibilities: - Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules using appropriate planning software and tools. - Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to establish project timelines and milestones. - Identify potential scheduling issues and risks, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate delays. - Prepare progress reports and performance metrics to communicate the project's status to stakeholders. - Conduct regular schedule reviews and update project plans in accordance with changes in scope or resources. - Assist in the development of work breakdown structures (WBS) and ensure proper allocation of resources. - Support the project team in defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and tracking project performance against them. - Participate in project meetings and provide insights based on scheduling analysis. - Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in project planning and scheduling. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the planning department.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in the oil and gas EPC -/EPCM industry. - Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools. - Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. - Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental considerations. - Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, IPMA) is a plus. - Fluency in English.
