:One of the leading structure steel companies delivering steel design and detailing services for building & industrial constructions.The Planning or Cost Control Engineer is responsible for functions of projects including receipt of drawing packages & requisitions, organizing & updating of planning database, primarily develop, implement, and maintain cost control functions, and provide planning/scheduling support on multiple projects, tracking of workflow at every stage until delivery, periodical project reporting, coordination with all stake holders to meet the management objectives and project requirements.During the Commercial PhaseEnsure the development of the project schedule according to the commercial needs.Verify feasibility and criticality.Participate in commercial risk management activities.At Project Start upEnsure the implementation of the Planning and Progress Control System required by the contract complexity, riskiness and duration, in compliance with the Project Breakdown Structure, Company Standards and Contract specification.Interface and coordinate with other Company Functions or Discipline Leaders/Supervisors and Managers to build up activities, assign milestones and constraints by issuing the Baseline Plan.Prepare all the reference baseline documents and ensure that the projects planning and scheduling requirements are properly and clearly communicated to those functionally responsible for executing the work.Issue all the relevant reportingTo receive drawing packages & requisitions, ensuring the availability of all data required for our process.Organizing & updating of planning database to have the access for all concerned personnel.Assistance to shop monthly plan preparation based on the project forward load chart & site sequential requirement.Coordination with all concerned for the shop floor activities like drawing queries, free issue materials, erection sequence & site requirements etc.Assistance for the continual improvement of production planning & reporting processes.Adhere to all company policies, procedures, ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within each project.Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of project and shop objectives.Sections raw materials forecasting for the available drawings & arrangement in coordination with projects team to ensure sufficient raw materials are available to carry out the production.Submit DPR and Bi-weekly reports regularly through email and hardcopy to Top Management.Respond to technical clarifications from the Client, maintain a register, and ensure project work complied with conditions set out in the scope of work.Perform the schedule risk analysis for highly critical projects.Plan and monitor progress, supplies, inspections, installation, etc.Track project costs and analyze trends.Effectively review, interpret and update construction schedules.Effectively analyze planning and project cost data, as well as deadlines to make projections, as well as identifying and participating in the development of solutions for problems.Produce various progress monitoring reports and graphs.Monitor activity progress and the relevant earned value, as well as the value of work done against the invoices received, determining the monthly accruals (to have accounts in line with work progress).Support the Project during the contract changes/claims process providing the cost impact analysis, and keeping updated the cost/revenues forecast relevant to Intercompany services.Analyze committed costs and activities to-date, review the estimate to complete, isolating any deviation from baselines or adverse trend and warn the PM on time to take corrective actions in order to prevent overruns.Maintain the risk management process organizing periodic meetings and verifying the risk owners feedback.May lead the assessment of impact(s) of design/construction changes and schedule slippages on the project budget, and develop pricing for variations.Set up baseline budget (resource/revenue/cost) with appropriate WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) interfacing with various disciplines and in coordination with Project Manager and Scheduler.Analyze, evaluate, forecast, and report resource/revenue/cost status against the established baseline.Prepare/update various weekly and monthly resource/revenue/cost tracking reports and submit them in a timely manner.Establish resource/revenue/cost projections for the entire project duration on monthly/yearly intervals in coordination with Project Managers.Monitors and tracks project progress and perform variance analysis for resource/revenue/cost against the approved projections and initiate/recommend corrective actions.Utilizes historical data and trends for use in maintaining a realistic basis for future planning and forecasting.Monitor and track project progress and perform Earned Value Analysis.Customize project control systems.to meet specific project requirements.May interface with clients, attend regular meetings, and provides statistical reports.Prepare Presentations for senior management for Project Reviews.Coordinates with Legal/Finance/Commercial teams as appropriate to fulfill the above responsibilities.Completes performance reviews for direct reports and provides personnel development. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.Prepare and maintain the Program Master Schedules.Lead workshops with clients, consultants and contractors as required to develop coordinated schedules and recovery schedules where applicable.Take the lead role and support project teams as required in their evaluation of extension of time claims, including concurrent delay, self-delay and make appropriate recommendations.Support project teams as required in their evaluation of variation orders, including breakdown (labor, equipment & material)Prepare Program-level cost and resource loaded (labor, plant and material) schedulesEvaluate in conjunction with the Logistics Manager, logistics plans submitted by the contractor or prepared by the project teams.Provide earned value assessments and dashboard reports as required.Resolve Program-level scheduling issues with key stakeholders.Actively seek out schedule optimization opportunities together with project teamsLead project teams in their analysis of actual progress in the field to assist with the evaluation of progress planned vs actual, payment certification and claims.Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related field).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in planning or cost control roles, preferably in [industry, e.g., construction, oil & gas, or infrastructure].
  • Proficiency in planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project) and financial tools (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, including earned value management (EVM).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
