We are seeking a skilled Planning & Cost Control Engineer to join our team. This role combines project planning and cost-saving expertise to ensure the efficient use of resources and adherence to project timelines and budgets. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in optimizing project execution and reducing unnecessary costs.
Key Responsibilities
Planning Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera or MS Project.
• Monitor progress and update schedules based on real-time site conditions.
• Identify critical path activities and recommend recovery strategies for delays.
• Optimize resource allocation, including labor, materials, and equipment.
• Collaborate with project teams to align timelines with operational goals.
Cost Control Responsibilities
• Monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to approved budgets.
• Analyze project expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Review and validate contractor invoices to prevent overbilling.
• Prepare and maintain cost forecasts and financial reports for management.
• Conduct value engineering to optimize design and execution costs.
• Identify material wastage and implement strategies to reduce it.
Integrated Responsibilities
• Provide management with detailed reports linking cost performance and project progress.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to source cost-effective materials without compromising quality.
• Assess the financial impact of project delays and propose mitigation strategies.
• Conduct periodic audits of project expenses to ensure financial compliance.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and cost control, preferably in the UAE construction industry.
• Proficiency in Primavera, MS Project, and cost management software like CCS Candy.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, FIDIC, and value engineering principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
• Experience in managing multidisciplinary projects.
• Familiarity with local regulations and authority requirements.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
