Overview:
The Planner / Scheduler - E&P (Exploration & Production) is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining project schedules for exploration and production activities. This role involves working closely with project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project execution and resource optimization. The Planner / Scheduler will analyze project timelines, identify potential delays, and recommend corrective actions to keep the project on track.
Responsibilities:
Develop detailed project schedules for E&P activities, including drilling, well completion, and production operations.
Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule and report on any deviations.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather input and update schedules regularly.
Conduct schedule risk analyses and recommend mitigation strategies to avoid delays.
Prepare and present schedule status reports, highlighting key milestones, critical paths, and areas of concern.
Use scheduling software to update and maintain accurate project timelines.
Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and other departments to align schedules with resource availability.
Assist in planning project budgets by integrating cost and schedule data.
Support the project team in identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts and resource constraints.
Ensure adherence to company and industry scheduling standards and best practices. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills:
Certification in Planning and Scheduling (e.g., PMI-SP, AACE) is preferred.
Proficient in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent tools. Years of Experience:
Minimum 7 years of experience in planning and scheduling within the oil and gas exploration and production sector. Technical Knowledge:
E&P Scheduling: In-depth knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques specific to exploration and production operations, including drilling, well completion, and production workflows.
Risk Analysis: Experience in schedule risk analysis and the ability to identify critical paths, potential delays, and resource constraints to provide solutions that optimize project timelines.
