PUPROSE OF THE ROLE:The Piping Engineer is responsible for the detailed design, analysis, and specification of piping systems for offshore oil and gas projects. This role involves ensuring that all piping systems are designed and installed according to project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. The Piping Engineer works collaboratively with the project team to deliver efficient and reliable piping solutions, supporting the engineering phase of projects.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and review piping design documents, including P&IDs, isometric drawings, and piping layouts.
Perform pipe stress analysis and flexibility analysis to ensure system integrity and compliance with standards.
Specify and select piping materials, components, and fittings based on project requirements and standards.
Provide technical support during the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning phases of the project.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving piping-related issues.
Ensure that piping designs are compliant with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all piping design activities.
Prepare technical reports, calculations, and datasheets for review and approval.
Ensure that all documentation is properly archived and maintained according to company procedures.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., process, mechanical, electrical) to ensure integrated project delivery.
Work closely with vendors and contractors to ensure the correct specification, procurement, and installation of piping equipment and materials.
Participate in project meetings and provide updates on piping engineering activities.
Ensure that all piping designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI) and regulatory requirements.
Implement and adhere to company and project-specific safety and quality management systems.
Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses related to piping systems.
Assist in the commissioning and startup of piping systems, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for piping equipment and systems.
Provide support for the integration of piping systems with other plant systems.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in piping engineering, preferably in offshore oil and gas projects.
Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI).
Proficiency in piping design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CAESAR II, PDMS).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Willingness to travel to offshore sites and project locations as required.
