Major duties/responsibilities
Follow up and approve the Contractors piping engineering activities, including the design, layout, and specification of piping systems in accordance with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines
Collaborate with project stakeholders, including process engineers, mechanical engineers, and construction teams, to develop piping designs that meet project objectives and specifications
follow up and approve piping stress analysis, hydraulic calculations, and flow simulations to ensure the integrity and performance of piping systems under various operating conditions
Check and approve piping isometrics, fabrication drawings, and material take-offs for procurement and construction activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design requirements
Follow up with Contractors vendors, suppliers, and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems, providing technical guidance and support to construction teams to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards in close cooperation with the Construction Manger and QA/QC Manager
Perform site inspections and audits to verify the quality of piping installations and identify any deviations or non-conformities requiring corrective action in close cooperation with the Construction Manger and QA/QC Manager
In view of the future operation and Maintenance: Develop and implement piping maintenance programs, including inspection schedules, corrosion mitigation strategies, and repair procedures, to ensure the long-term reliability and integrity of piping infrastructure
Provide technical support and troub
leshooting assistance to the commissioning team to address piping-related issues and optimize system performance
Stay informed about advancements in piping technology, materials, and construction methods, and incorporate best practices and lessons learned into project designs and operations
Perform other related duties as assigned
Your profile
Education requirement (Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering or equivalent)
Number of years of experience required is 10-15 years
A hands-on engineering professional having experience in fabrication, erection, welding and testing of Oil & Gas or power plant piping
Prerequisite: must be familiar with applicable international standards, e.g. ANSI B31.3, ANSI B31.4 and ASME requirements, as well as the local standards for the Oil & Gas industry
Prerequisite; must be fully conversant with the quality requirements of petroleum piping. Should have independently supervised piping work in a refinery or oil storage terminal.
Geographic focus in Middle East / Abu Dhabi
Mandatory that the candidate has a proficiency in in the standard MS Office applications, as well as exposure to design aspects, Auto CAD or similar and knowledge of MS Projects
Working conditions
Work requirement is to be physically on-site 5 days a week during working hours
5% of travel may be required
