The Pipeline Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, fabrication, welding, and maintenance of pipelines (CS, MS, HDPE, GRP) with diameters above 100mm. This role requires hands-on technical expertise in pipeline construction, welding processes, and quality assurance to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations. The supervisor will lead a team of welders, fabricators, and technicians while coordinating with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Leadership
Lead and manage a team of welders, fabricators, pipefitters, and laborers on pipeline construction and maintenance projects.
Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training sessions to promote a culture of safety and quality.
Pipeline Fabrication and Welding
Oversee and perform fabrication, welding, and assembly of pipelines made of Carbon Steel (CS), Mild Steel (MS), HDPE, and GRP materials.
Ensure proper welding techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG) are applied for CS and MS pipes, and fusion welding or extrusion welding for HDPE/GRP pipes.
Verify alignment, fit-up, and welding quality to meet project specifications and industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM).
Quality Control and Assurance
Inspect welds, joints, and fittings for defects using visual inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT) methods (e.g., radiography, ultrasonic testing), or pressure testing.
Ensure compliance with material specifications, welding procedures and client requirements.
Maintain records of inspections, test results, and certifications for traceability and audits.
Installation and Maintenance
Supervise the installation of pipelines above 100mm diameter in various environments (e.g., onshore, offshore, urban, or industrial settings).
Coordinate trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, and reinstatement activities with civil teams.
Oversee repairs and maintenance of pipelines, including hot tapping, sleeving, or replacement of damaged sections.
Material and Equipment Management
Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of pipeline materials (CS, MS, HDPE, GRP) to prevent damage or degradation.
Manage welding equipment, tools, and consumables to ensure availability and functionality.
Verify that materials meet project specifications and standards before use.
Safety and Compliance
Enforce strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with welding, fabrication, and pipeline installation activities.
Ensure proper use of Personal
