PURPOSE OF THE JOB:The Pipeline Engineer is responsible for the detailed design, analysis, and specification of subsea and offshore pipeline systems for oil and gas projects. This role involves ensuring that all pipeline systems are designed and installed according to project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines. The Pipeline Engineer collaborates with the project team to deliver reliable and efficient pipeline solutions, supporting the engineering phase of offshore projects.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and review pipeline design documents, including alignment sheets, P&IDs, and pipeline route maps.
Perform pipeline stress analysis, flow assurance studies, and stability analysis.
Specify and select pipeline materials, coatings, and cathodic protection systems based on project requirements and standards.
Provide technical support during the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning phases of the project.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving pipeline-related issues.
Ensure that pipeline designs are compliant with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all pipeline design activities.
Prepare technical reports, calculations, and datasheets for review and approval.
Ensure that all documentation is properly archived and maintained according to company procedures.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., process, mechanical, electrical) to ensure integrated project delivery.
Work closely with vendors and contractors to ensure the correct specification, procurement, and installation of pipeline equipment and materials.
Participate in project meetings and provide updates on pipeline engineering activities.
Ensure that all pipeline designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, DNV-GL) and regulatory requirements.
Implement and adhere to company and project-specific safety and quality management systems.
Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses related to pipeline systems.
Assist in the commissioning and startup of pipeline systems, ensuring proper installation and functionality.
Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for pipeline equipment and systems.
Provide support for the integration of pipeline systems with other plant systems.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Pipeline Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in pipeline engineering, preferably in offshore oil and gas projects.
Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME, API, DNV-GL).
Proficiency in pipeline design software and tools (e.g., CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, Pipenet).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Willingness to travel to offshore sites and project locations as required.
