• Point of contact with the school management.
• Regular meeting with the MSO (Manager School Operations) and works closely with the MSO to resolve complaints regarding the canteen, alongside the Operations / Catering Manager's support.
• Escalate and direct the school concern to the concerned department (Compliance / HR / Accounts / Events etc).
• Direct point of contact for the parents for the specific schools. Answer their questions and complaints on time or escalate it to the concerned department.
• Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, taking recommendations based on their preferences, and up-selling special items.
• Preparing foods, such as sandwiches or baked goods, and grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.
• Packaging food and beverages for sale.
• Responsible for taking orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios).
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards).
• Cleaning work and dining areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
• Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.
• Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.
• Check if equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs to Supervisor / PIC.
• Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items.
• Maintain personal hygiene and comply with the food safety protocol.
• Updating signage and displays to attract customers.
• Abide with the school policy for child protection.
• Maintain food safety records of all the temperature logs for food, chiller, display chiller etc.
• Maintain stock of food and non-food stock items.
• Count and record the inventory - both opening and closing.
• Check the stock balance to help the Supervisor / PIC in ordering.
• Check and inspect all received food supplies for freshness, quality and quantity against suppliers' invoices / delivery notes, signing and dating the same and referring the documents to Location Supervisor / PIC.
• Assist Supervisor / PIC for cash counting, ordering and inventory.
• Inform the Supervisor / PIC about food shortage or excess.
• Ensure that all meals/products displayed in the canteen or coffee shop have production and expiry dates, nutritional information and proper labelling.
• Ensure that all policies and procedures of the canteen are upheld with special regard for Occupational Health and Safety and Food Safety to prevent food spoilage, contamination and subsequent food poisoning.
• Record personal attendance record and ensure that the Supervisor / PIC signs off at the end of the month.
