Job Description

• Professionally and legally accountable for own work, ensuring high clinical care standards for patients and supporting team members to do the same.
• Conduct comprehensive, highly specialist physiotherapy assessments for patients, including those with complex presentations, using advanced investigative and analytical skills.
• Select appropriate treatment techniques, including facilitation of normal movement, therapeutic handling, gait re-education, and chest physiotherapy.
• Utilize advanced clinical reasoning and a broad range of treatment skills to create individual management and specialist treatment plans in agreement with the patient where appropriate.
• Review and evaluate patients' conditions at each physiotherapy session, amending treatment programs as necessary to achieve planned objectives.
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain and consolidate highly specialist skills related to the assessment and treatment of specialty areas.
• Provide advice, teaching, and instruction to patients, relatives, and carers regarding their medical management and care needs, promoting understanding of the aims of physiotherapy.
• Communicate effectively with patients and carers, addressing cultural, religious, and language barriers to maximize rehabilitation potential, ensure understanding of conditions, and address anxieties and concerns. Use skills of persuasion, motivation, explanation, and gaining informed consent with a wide variety of patients.
• Work flexibly as a member of the rehab team, communicating effectively with others.

• Demonstrate a sound understanding of clinical governance and risk management, applying these principles to the work situation and ensuring others do likewise.
• Maintain continuing professional development (CPD) by staying up-to-date with developments to ensure practice is based on the best available evidence.
• Actively participate in the in-service training program, including attendance and presentation at staff meetings, tutorials, training sessions, external courses, and reflective practice.
• Engage in informal/formal supervision with Team Lead and/or Senior Manager.
• Facilitate team continued professional development as an integrated physiotherapy and occupational therapy team.
• Participate in the staff appraisal scheme, identifying objectives for personal development with the Team Lead and/or Senior Manager and writing learning contracts to achieve agreed goals.
• Seek supervision to support clinical/management/professional issues from the Team Lead.
• Facilitate and support the identification, measurement, and evaluation of work and team's current practice through evidence-based practice projects, audits, and outcome measures, making recommendations to team and personal practice.

Administrative/Organizational Responsibilities

• Efficiently and effectively manage designated caseload regarding clinical responsibilities and time use.
• Attend mandatory training sessions, including annual fire and safety lectures, Basic Life Support, and safe patient manual handling training.
• Ensure the application of professional standards in day-to-day physiotherapy practice.
• Manage health and safety aspects within the workplace, promptly reporting and documenting incidents and accidents.
• Ensure the effective selection and use of all available treatment resources in the department.
• Responsible for the equipment used in clinical duties, adhering to departmental equipment policy, ensuring safe equipment use by oneself and others.
• Comply with organizational and departmental policies and procedures, proactively identifying, reviewing, and updating them as appropriate.
• Carry out responsibilities with due regard to the 'Equal Opportunities' Policy.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff, attending all relevant health and safety training.

Education

• Degree or Diploma in PT
• B.Sc Degree or Masters Degree

Experience

• 2 years clinical experience
• 3 years + clinical experience

Certification and Licensure

• DOH and home country licensure
