We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomy Nurse with a valid DOH (Department of Health) license to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in blood sample collection, patient care, and laboratory protocols. This role requires expertise in venipuncture, a strong commitment to patient safety, and compliance with healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Blood Collection and Sample Handling:
• Perform venipuncture and other blood collection procedures with accuracy and care.
• Collect and label samples while maintaining proper documentation and adhering to laboratory protocols.
• Ensure timely transport of specimens to the laboratory.
• Patient Care and Safety:
• Provide exceptional care and support to patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and take appropriate action when necessary.
• Compliance and Standards:
• Strictly follow infection control guidelines, including the proper handling and disposal of sharps and biohazard materials.
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations and institutional policies.
• Documentation and Record Management:
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of procedures and patient interactions.
• Input data into electronic medical records (EMR) systems as required.
• Collaboration and Support:
• Work closely with physicians, laboratory staff, and other healthcare team members to ensure efficient patient care.
• Assist in other nursing tasks as needed, including patient assessments and general clinical support.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Education: Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Valid DOH license to practice in the UAE.
• Experience: 4-5 years of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in venipuncture techniques and blood collection for patients across all age groups.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to reassure and comfort patients.
• Knowledge of laboratory protocols, specimen handling, and infection control standards.
Preferred Attributes:
• Experience in diagnostic laboratories, hospitals, or clinics in the UAE.
• Certification in Phlebotomy or additional nursing specializations.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and healthcare software.
