The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) will provide compassionate and personalized care for elderly or disabled persons in an independent living arrangement. You will help to ensure the comfort and safety of your patient in a variety of activities, and foster independence in them through behaviors of support and affirmation.
Responsibilities:
Assisting with personal hygiene including bathing, grooming, dressing, etc.
Assistance with daily living activities such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and medication reminders.
Participation in physical and occupational therapy or exercise programs.
Transportation to doctor or medical appointments.
Provide emotional support to patient.
Support and actively participate in communication with primary care physician and other healthcare providers.
Documenting health care services rendered and report changes in the condition of the patient to the supervisor.
Requirements:
One year relevant work experience.
CPR and First Aid Certifications.
Completion of successfully passing background check.
Ability to communicate in English efficiently both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated empathy for patient needs, a strong self-initiative and time-management skills.
Must be available to work flexible schedules.
