Commi Job Summary: We are seeking a Pastry chef with an enthusiasm to learn and develop in our kitchen. As a Pastry chef, you will be responsible for preparing daily mise en place. You should have a passion for food and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Take part in the opening and closing duties of the pastry in compliance with the norms and internal procedures and contribute in stocking and receiving goods when needed
Follow security / fire / safety procedures according to the set rules and regulations and report any incidents to hierarchy
Prepare quality pastry items as per the outlined recipes, the HACCP standards, the portion control practices, and the items presentation guidelines then dispatch prepared orders to the different outlets
Ensure sanitation of work station at all times during the shift in by cleaning the fridge, shelves and counter, sharpening knives and cleaning utensils upon end of shift
Check at the start of his shift that products needed for his service station are on hand according to set par level and perform the order of the products from the internal store
Check the shelf life of products, tag the production/expiry date on each product, monitor and communicate on wasted product figures
Maintain good product/food items knowledge to be able to answer any inquiries and to provide observations when needed
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting in cake, ganache, cream preparation process
Baking and preparing cakes, cookies biscuits and bread items
Preparing pastry line for miss en place
Assisting other Chefs
Helping with deliveries and restocking
Assisting with stock rotation Cleaning stations
Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards
Attitude:
Basic knowledge of all sections
Ability to work under supervision of a limited range
Ability to produce good quality basic food
Understanding of health and safety
Understanding of basic food hygiene practices
Good oral communication
Team management skills
High level of attention to detail

Requirements:
Strong in al cart menu
Proven experience working as a team
Excellent knowledge of basic techniques and ingredients
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects
Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
