Assist the Pastry Chef in the preparation and production of a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, bread, and other baked goods, following established recipes and standards.
Participate in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas and suggestions for new pastry and bakery offerings that align with guest preferences and seasonal trends.
Prepare and decorate pastries and desserts, including piping, glazing, and garnishing, with attention to detail and presentation to ensure a visually appealing and enticing display.
Monitor ingredient quantities and production levels to ensure sufficient stock levels for daily operations, communicating with the Pastry Chef to coordinate replenishment as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry/bakery kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas, in compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
Adhere to proper food handling and storage procedures to maintain freshness, quality, and safety of pastry and bakery products.
Assist in inventory management, including receiving, storing, and rotating ingredients and supplies to minimize waste and ensure optimal freshness and quality.
Collaborate with other members of the culinary team to coordinate production schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely preparation of orders.
Train and supervise junior pastry/bakery staff, providing guidance, instruction, and support to develop their skills and capabilities.
Stay informed about industry trends, new techniques, and innovations in pastry and bakery, and incorporate new ideas into product offerings and presentation.
