Job Description

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Pastry & Dessert Production

Oversee the preparation of all pastries, baked goods, and desserts with consistency and excellence. Develop new recipes and seasonal menus to enhance the customer experience. Ensure proper execution of plating, decoration, and final presentation.

2. Kitchen Management & Team Leadership

Supervise and train the pastry team, including bakers, pastry cooks, and assistants. Assign tasks, oversee workflow, and ensure the kitchen operates smoothly. Foster a positive work environment and encourage skill development within the team.

3. Quality Control & Food Safety

Maintain the highest quality standards in pastry preparation and presentation. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP) and hygiene protocols. Conduct regular quality checks to maintain consistency and taste standards.

4. Inventory & Cost Control

Manage ingredient stock levels, ordering, and cost control. Ensure efficient use of ingredients to minimize waste and optimize profitability. Work with the purchasing department to source high-quality ingredients.

5. Collaboration & Menu Development

Work closely with the Executive Chef and management to align pastry offerings with the overall menu. Stay updated on industry trends and introduce innovative pastry creations. Customize desserts for special events, buffets, and catering services.

6. Administrative & Operational Responsibilities

Maintain documentation for recipes, costing, and inventory control. Schedule pastry team shifts and manage kitchen workflow. Ensure all pastry equipment is well-maintained and in good working condition.
