As the Assistant for Pastry & Dessert Section at Tita Yara, you will work closely with the Pastry Chef to execute our dessert menu, focusing on French pastries and complex desserts that leave a lasting impression on our guests. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the quality, creativity, and consistency of our pastry offerings.
Responsibilities:
• Assist the Pastry Chef in the preparation of French and Middle Eastern pastries, cakes, and complex desserts, ensuring high standards of taste and presentation.
• Support the development and testing of new dessert recipes in collaboration with the Pastry Chef.
• Maintain an organized and clean work environment, adhering to strict hygiene and food safety standards.
• Help manage the pastry section, including inventory control, monitoring supplies, and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
• Participate in training sessions and team meetings to improve skills and stay updated on new techniques.
• Contribute to the plating and presentation of desserts, ensuring they align with the restaurant's aesthetic and culinary standards.
• Assist in coordinating with the culinary team to ensure smooth and timely delivery of desserts during service.
• Stay informed about current trends in the pastry arts and contribute ideas for menu innovation.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a pastry or dessert section.
• A strong foundation in baking and pastry arts, with an understanding of French and Middle Eastern pastry techniques.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and produce consistent results under the guidance of the Pastry Chef.
• Creative flair with a passion for creating visually stunning and delicious desserts.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization.
• Good time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Formal training in pastry arts or a related field is preferred but not required.
