:The Role: The Legal team for our Global Emerging Markets (GEMs) business unit, headquartered in Dubai, UAE, and part of the International segment, is looking for a full time Paralegal to provide broad-based legal support across difference areas of law. GEMs covers more than 80 countries. Reporting to the Legal Director, the Paralegal will be a member of the General Mills Law Department and the growing GEMs business. The Paralegal will partner with, and provide legal guidance and support to the GEMs business on a variety of legal issues, with input and coordination from members of the International legal team, as well as other members of the Law Department, including its centers of excellence. Providing hands-on support on distribution and franchise agreements in multiple countries in the world will be an integral part of this fast-paced role.Key Responsibilities:Reviewing, drafting and managing a wide range of commercial agreements, including distribution, franchise, sourcing and marketing agreements. Working closely with the Marketing team to support the review of promotions or advertising initiatives and provide legal guidance when required. Working closely with our Trademarks team to support the company strategy and ensure protection of our brands in the GEMs countries. In coordination with relevant stakeholders, putting in place a system to manage and store distribution agreements. Coordinating with our Corporate team to ensure compliance of our legal entities across GEMs countries. Working with our Ethics&Compliance team to support any training efforts and ensure our policies are well understood across GEMs. Working closely with our GEMs business teams to summarize and communicate legal concepts clearly and effectively and help them synthesize legal frameworks in developing their business strategies. Advising on relevant legal contexts, issues and risks, approval processes, and company policies and procedures.Contributing to regional and global Law Department initiatives, including projects aimed at streamlining processes, coordinating training and developing and sharing best practices.Specific Areas of Practice include:General business, corporate and commercial lawExpertise in distribution, agency and franchise agreements is essentialExpertise in Marketing Law is highly recommendedIP/Trademark Law, Data Privacy and Competition Law knowledge is a plusRequired Skills/Experience:Law degree (no qualification / bar required).3-5 years experience in similar roles, preferably in FMCG or related field.Strong grounding in contract and commercial law, particularly in the field of distribution / agency / franchise agreements.Ability to manage different time zones.A trusted business partner, capable of building strong working relationships with all business functions.Acts with a high level of autonomy and strong sense of personal responsibility, but also a team player with the flexibility and agility to work in cross functional teams, assist colleagues in the region and liaise with Law Department Centers of Excellence (including Trademarks, Patents, Data Privacy, Corporate Secretarial and HR).Able to cope with, and prioritize, a demanding and rapidly changing workload often to tight deadlines.Able to own, and develop commonsense business solutions to, legal problems.Unquestionable integrity.Superior interpersonal and communication skills.Excellent command of English.
