The Outdoor Development Trainer will contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the company by providing support to the outdoor department which will include the delivery of outdoor activity and developmental programmes, the design and development of any programme, office based tasks, sales delivery, stores and equipment management. To ensure that all standards for quality, accuracy and responsiveness in the company\'s policies, procedures and customer care practices are met.Qualification & Experience:National governing body Mountain Leader, Kayak Coach inland & Sea, Climbing leader, Mountain bike leader & 1st AidMinimum of 3 years teaching experience leading groups in the outdoors including development training and technical instruction.Skills
To work under the supervision of the Outdoor Programmes Manager & Senior Outdoor Development Trainers to effectively and efficiently deliver all outdoor activity and development programme activities
To use the Course Directors Handbook to deliver all allocated programmes and to create all relevant course materials to ensure the smooth running of the allocated programme.
To assist the Senior Outdoor Development Trainers to carry out generic & site specific risk assessments, this will include site visits.
To assist the Facilities Manager with stores related tasks such as the issue and receipt of all outdoor and programme equipment including the drying and cleanliness of all outdoor equipment. To assist with the selecting and purchasing of new equipment as directed by the relevant staff and, the preparation, issue and retrieval of the any activity equipment. This may include quarterly equipment safety inspections.
To provide efficient briefing to the Outdoor Programmes Manager on completion of all internal projects, providing supporting documents in good time. To keep the Outdoor Programmes Manager fully informed of any concerns you may have in conjunction with projects undertaken.
Undertake all other tasks as reasonably required in order to meet the varying demands of the Company.
Organise and schedule, in agreement with the Outdoor Programmes Manager all holidays in conjunction with the employment contract to promote good and efficient working practices.
Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues to ensure an integrated contribution to the Company\'s objectives.
Staff Training may be undertaken outside of normal working hours.
Observe and continually promote equal opportunities and customer care in compliance with policies and to standards laid down in the Company Handbook.
