Collecting data to provide information regarding patient information and surgical listing process.
Transcribing, entering, proofing and editing surgical listing information.
Transcribing, entering, proofing and editing KPI such as cancellations.
Maintaining current accurate surgical assignments.
Providing patient instructions and assessing patient understanding.
Communicating and coordinating surgical listing information.
Monitoring physician privileges for surgical allocations.
The OT Coordinator collaborates with the health care team to support patient activity.
Treats patient and/or customer service as a top priority.
Develops supportive relationships with patient/significant others, maintaining a professional role.
Answers the phone promptly and assists the caller in a courteous manner.
Relays complete and accurate messages promptly.

Communicates appropriate hospital arrival time to patient/family verbally and to appropriate department via surgical list.

Provides patient information with respect for patient's privacy, uniqueness, per-sonal preference and cultural/religious beliefs.

Reports promptly any complaints, or incidents relating to the OT unit, ensuring that a prompt and appropriate response is made in accordance with best practice and hospital procedures.
Provides evidence of annual competence, for example, confidentiality, safety and emergency plans.
Responsible to update self and keep informed of current developments in Department of Surgical Services practice.
Attends educational programs and in services.
Contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues and others by sharing knowledge and skills with staff members in formal/informal teaching/practice settings.
Participates in he/his self-performance appraisal on a regular basis, identifying areas of strength and areas for professional/practice development.
Demonstrates assignment flexibility according to the department's needs as may be delegated or assigned by senior staff.
