:To provide a range of reception intake and associated administrative services pertaining to incoming patients. Organizing patient flow, rotation, and operating theater readiness for the patients. OT medication and consumable ordering, follow up and reviewing. Follow up of all patient documentation related to anesthesia department, recording and statistics preparation.Responsibilities:As an Anesthesia Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out the following responsibilities:
Consult Operating Room schedule to determine supply and equipment needs for procedures
Check, assess, and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment malfunctions, routing non-functional equipment to the proper department for repair
Stock anesthesia supplies in all anesthetizing locations including fiber optic carts, emergency airway bags, and any other anesthesia supply location
Obtain supplies and equipment as requested by anesthesia providers
Effectively communicate and coordinate with the OT reception, nurse in the receiving area, and the anesthesia doctors for optimum patient flow in the operating theater
Follow up and organize drugs through effective coordination with all anesthesia doctors to ensure all the medication is ready for the allocated cases
Organize the flow list and coordinate with the nurse team lead and anesthesia on-call doctor for allocating the emergency cases to optimize workflow
Follow up and check anesthesia department stocks, coordinating with the operation theater in charge to assure the availability of all needed anesthesia consumables
Coordinate with the biomedical engineer team for anesthesia machine and operating theater equipment follow-up and maintenance
Audit all anesthesia files for the patient before the patient is shifted to the ward to ensure proper documentation
Prepare anesthesia department documentation and statistics
Serve as an instructor/facilitator of educational in-services for other anesthesia technicians
Manage the daily work schedule of anesthesia technicians and direct care to provide an efficient and safe environment
Comply with all OSH (occupational health and safety) and infection control policies, standards, and procedures, and cooperate with hospital management to meet these requirements
Work in accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, with specific responsibilities
Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
Notify OSH hazards, incidents, near misses, and issues, and assist with the preparation of risk assessments and incident reports
Comply with waste management procedures and policies
Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills, and awareness programs
Use appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems
Ensure that employees follow applicable OSH/Infection control policies, procedures, and standards
Provide OSH information, training, and supervision to the staff
Report any OSH relevant incident, near misses, and hazards in the department in a timely manner
Make sure that incident corrective actions have been implemented
Assist with the preparation of risk assessments and monitor the control measures
Ensure trainings are conducted, including general/departmental/FMS/OSH orientation for new employees and transferred employees, refresher training for department staff, etc.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or its equivalent is required, with vocational training in operating room technology, medical terminology, and physiology
Minimum 2 years of administrative experience in the main operating room or a similar setting preferred
Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic language is advantageous/desirable but not essential
