**Job Overview**

The Ops Geoscience Specialist's role is to interpret data using sophisticated technical software, determining subsurface geology and the economic importance of natural resources. You will interpret data from cased wells to assess wellbore integrity and reservoir properties, ensuring safe and efficient oil and gas production. As part of the Interpretation and Evaluation Services (IES) function you will support the Wireline Product Line, providing the relevant stakeholders with accurate data and adequate WFRD answer products.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Produces WFRD-standard answer products on a variety of datasets from basic to very difficult.

+ Integrates results with other technical domains including - Formation testing and sampling, Well Tests, Seismic data, etc.

+ Participate in project teams and may be the lead on small projects.

+ Make decisions based on industry standards and past experience whilst following WFRD policy.

+ Identify and recommend solutions to technical problems.

+ Seek advice on challenges falling outside normal procedures.

+ Work independently and as part of a team without general supervision.

+ Give technical guidance to junior professionals and technicians.

+ Regularly meet customers for pre-sales and pre-job consultation. Present WFRD answer products in collaboration with junior staff or sales staff.

+ Demonstrate awareness of WFRD corporate business plans. Contribute to local technology strategy.

+ Attend and deliver presentations to local technical societies.

+ Complete all required HSE and other mandatory training. Maintain an acceptable HSE record.

+ Achieve appropriate level competence in cased hole petrophysics domain.

+ Demonstrate competency to make fundamental application within another relevant technical domain such as: Geology, Reservoir Engineering, Geophysics, Production Engineering

**Education and Experience**

REQUIRED

+ University Degree in Engineering, Geology, Geoscience or Geophysics

+ A minimum of 10 years working within the Oil and Gas industry, with at least 5 years focused on cased hole petrophysical operations, reservoir surveillance and interpretation.

+ Solid grasp of completion technology and deep understanding of reservoir engineering.

+ Experience using Emeraude Kappa. ViewWell/PLATO is added advantage

+ Experience in the evaluation of Casing Integrity Data in the form of magnetic, acoustic and/or caliper data for the purposes of identifying casing corrosion and other casing damage.

+ Experience in the evaluation of Cement Integrity Data to evaluate cement bond quality and coverage.

+ Other experience in Open Hole Log Analysis/Petrophysics and Geology/Image log interpretation also desired.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

PREFERRED

+ Experience with Noise log, Multi-barrier casing and cement evaluation and Fiber optics is preferred.

+ Other experience in Open Hole Log Analysis/Petrophysics and Geology/Image log interpretation also desired.

REQUIRED

+ Good presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex issues.

+ Be a self-starter and eager to learn in the office environment.

+ Be familiar with Microsoft Office products.

+ Ability to adapt positively to changes in policies, procedures, priorities or work environments.
