Position: Operations Head

Location: Sharjah, UAE

We are a leading Merchandise and corporate gifts trading and printing company serving the UAE and the broader Middle East and North Africa region. Our extensive portfolio features 1,500 products and 13 advanced printing techniques within a 40,000-square-foot facility. Over the past decade, we have seen substantial growth and expansion. To meet rising business demands and achieve our diversification goals, we are seeking a dynamic, energetic, and proactive Distribution centre Head to join our team in Sharjah.

Role Overview:

As the Distribution Centre Head, you will be a key player in our management team, responsible for overseeing production planning, quality assurance, resource management, and process improvement. Your leadership will drive operational excellence and support our strategic objectives.

The Main leaders who will be reporting to you are, warehouse and Logistics in charge and Production Technical Manager, plus maintenance coordinator. Both have a team but they both have a structured team which they manage.

Key Focus Areas:

1. Production Planning and Control:

o Optimize the production schedules to meet customer demands and this should result in efficiency.

o Monitor and read production processes and adjust schedules to maintain workflow and meet deadlines with maximum productivity, but mainly read how can the process be optimized.

o Make sure a reorder level is set and the correct communication is set between the factory and warehouse for coordination of raw materials and for any urgent and sudden requirements procurement is quick to get the raw materials for you.

o Collaborate with production manager to streamline workflows, minimize downtime, and enhance operational effectiveness, to the minute level.

o Make Machine SOP's and make sure the production team follows it on daily basis.

o Analyse production KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

o Develop detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance operational procedures specially in each department.

o Create and deliver training presentations, coordinate training sessions with line managers or supervisors.

2. Leadership and Management:

o Lead, motivate, and manage the production team, including supervisors, operators, support staff, warehouse and logistics in charge, and the production technical manager.

o Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities.

o Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.

3. Quality Assurance:

o Make sure for all our products we deal in a standard procedure is made right from storing the product, in warehouse to handling the product to printing it and then finally even dispatching it.

o Ensure all products meet quality standards, in special packing to special printing requests.

o Implement and maintain quality control procedures; conduct regular inspections.

o Address quality issues promptly and work with the after-sales customer service team to figure out the main issue and then to implement corrective actions.

4. Resource Management:

o Manage and give production budgets and control costs to meet financial targets.

o Oversee maintenance and upkeep of production equipment and facilities.

o Ensure efficient use of resources, including labour, materials, and equipment.

o Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills and track and expedite raw material, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

o Work closely with other departments, including maintenance, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure smooth operations in the warehouse, logistics, and production.

o Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

6. Inventory Management:

o Oversee inventory levels to manage raw materials and finished goods effectively.

o Manage stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and minimize waste.

7. Process Improvement:

o Continuously analyse and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

o Evaluate and adopt new technologies, refine procedures, or implement lean manufacturing principles.

8. Team Management:

o Lead and motivate the complete distribution centre team which includes production, warehouse, logistics and maintenance including hiring, training, and performance management.

o Maintain effective communication and leadership to ensure a productive and engaged workforce.

9. Cost Management:

o Monitor and control production costs, including labor, materials, and overheads.

o Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

10. Customer Satisfaction:

o Address internal and external stakeholder concerns by collaborating with warehouse, production, sales, procurement, and production departments.

11. Reporting:

o Report to the General Manager and provide financial updates to the Finance Manager monthly, including issues, action plans, and resolutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 7-12 years of experience, with at least 3-5 years in production/operations management and warehouse and logistics 5 years of experience.

Skills:

• Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and developing teams.
• Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in production planning and control software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED11,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
