Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Operations Manager to oversee and manage the end-to-end operations of our freight forwarding department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient logistics operations, driving operational excellence, and meeting client service levels. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of global freight forwarding processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operations Management:
• Oversee daily operations for air, sea, and land freight forwarding services.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective transportation solutions while adhering to company and client requirements.
• Coordinate with carriers, customs agents, and warehouses to streamline the shipping process.
• Team Leadership:
• Lead, mentor, and manage the operations team, ensuring high performance and continuous professional development.
• Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor workload distribution to ensure efficient handling of shipments.
• Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
• Client Relations:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding operational inquiries and issues.
• Maintain and develop strong relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing any concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with the sales team to provide operational insights for new client opportunities.
• Compliance & Documentation:
• Ensure compliance with local and international shipping regulations, including customs procedures, trade laws, and safety standards.
• Oversee the preparation of all necessary shipping documents (BLs, AWBs, invoices, etc.) and ensure their accuracy.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
• Cost Control & Efficiency:
• Manage and optimize operational costs, including negotiating rates with carriers, vendors, and service providers.
• Identify areas for operational improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.
• Monitor freight costs, tracking trends and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Performance Monitoring:
• Establish and track KPIs to measure operational performance, including delivery times, costs, and service quality.
• Prepare and present reports on operational performance to senior management.
• Proactively identify and resolve any bottlenecks or operational challenges.
• Risk Management:
• Anticipate and mitigate potential risks, including delays, damages, and compliance issues.
• Implement contingency plans to ensure minimal disruption to the supply chain.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, with at least 3 years in an operations management role.
• Strong knowledge of global freight forwarding processes, customs regulations, and international trade compliance.
• Experience in managing a team and working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in multiple modes of transport (air, sea, and land).
• Familiarity with global trade lanes and key shipping markets.
• Certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
