Every day, 74,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.Could you be the full-time Operations and Maintenance Technician in Dubai, United Arab Emirates we're looking for?Your future roleThe Dubai APM Operation & Maintenance Technician will be responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the complete System related to Wayside and Vehicles, maintenance-of-way equipment, and maintaining all equipment related to the system. These individuals will be capable operating the system from OCC and recovery/restorative actions on the mainline or in the yard. The Employee is also responsible for the day-to-day support of customer service through effective communications, maintenance of balanced headways, buildup, and reduction of trains for revenue service; effective utilization of emergency and failure management strategies; support of maintenance through efficient implementation of the Site Rules and Operating & Maintenance Procedures and clearances; and any other support which affects or could affect customer service.We\'ll look to you for:
Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and adjustments to all systems, subsystems, and components of an electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic nature.
Trouble-shoot complex systems and components to identify problems or failures.
Use various electronic test equipment to diagnose/isolate faults.
Install/repair complex wiring assemblies including modifications.
Assist in the Development of procedures or improvements on periodic inspection, repairs, maintenance, and schedules to reduce out-of-service time.
Assist in the development of drawings, specs, schematics or other written or verbal instructions for use by lower classified personnel and assist in the development of training courses.
Assist in the development of vehicle maintenance schedules and priorities.
Know and utilize safe work procedures and assure that others working in the area are also working in a safe manner.
Report all potentially unsafe procedures or conditions. Lead development of safe work area and procedures for new work tasks.
Ability to use the Site Information Management System
Central Control (control center operations, dispatch terminal, communication interface panels, and process control systems).
System and vehicle recovery (electronic, Electro-mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems)
Wayside (train control, traction power, communication, and related system).
Through interaction with the ATC system, manages the assembly of rail vehicle consists and ensures that the scheduled trains are correctly configured and available for movement into customer service
Through interaction with ATC, ATP and communication systems, implements and/or coordinates contingency plans to include the necessary strategies as defined by the supervisor during service disruptions and emergencies to minimize delays and inconvenience to the customer.
Responsible for the power configuration through interaction with the PDS system for normal service, or maintenance and emergency activities.
Works within defined policies and procedures regarding both normal and emergency operations.
Through interaction with the communications and CCTV systems, monitors platforms, stations, intrusion alarms, customer activity and any other system which affects customer service.
Works variable hours and shifts as needed for coverage.
Proficient with the function, recovery, and reboot procedures of all Central Control Equipment.
Ability to use Site Information Management System
Lead lower, classified personnel from a technical standpoint, and function in a lead capacity, as necessary.

High school diploma or equivalent; Preferably an associate degree (A.S.) in a related mechanical or technical discipline and/or Vocational Training/Certification in a related discipline.
Previous work experience may be recognized in lieu of formal technical education.
General knowledge in all electronic, mechanical, electro/mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, subsystems, and components related to transit systems.
Knowledge of vehicle and wayside systems and subsystems will be preferred.
Knowledge of procedures and schedule initiation will be preferred.
Ability to lead associates of a lower classification and lead training sessions.
Ability to produce quality results in a pressure environment.
Ability to use various computer applications for reports, shift communications, inventory control, etc.
Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, and all standard electro/mechanical symbols.
General communication skills (oral and written) to be utilized in the preparation of reports and task assignments.
