Job Description

:Administrative
  • Performs surveillance activities using NMC PIMC/OSHAD criteria, documentation, and investigation requirements
  • Conducts Occupational Health and Safety rounds/ Inspections
  • Report the findings of any investigations to appropriate authorities in accordance with OSHAD regulations
  • Participate in NMC PIMC/OSHAD audit programs and provide relevant results to authorities concerned
  • Manages and advise on Occupational Health and safety requirements in NMC Provita
  • In collaboration with the Management Representative, selects Key Performance Indicators which reflects the organization's goals, are quantifiable (measurable)
  • Review & Monitor Occupational Health and safety requirements related Risk Assessment and Hazard Analysis
  • Performing related Root Cause Analysis systematically in collaboration with the OHS Assistant
  • Be an active participant of various committees in NMC PIMC
  • Chair the NMC PIMC OSH committee and provide guidance and updated feedback to committee members
  • Will adhere to the Health Sector OSH and other regulatory/ accreditation requirements
Occupational Health And Safety Services
  • Will actively participate in DOH's mission in the area of Occupational Health and Safety to prevent and control environmental, occupational health, safety, related incidents in all licensed healthcare facilities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi with the ultimate to eliminate or reduce to a level ALARP any fatalities, occupational diseases and disorders, disabling and other injuries.
  • Oversee and manage the administrative and operational activities of occupational health and safety services
  • Monitor the performance & implementation of OSHMS
  • Provide or manage the required physical evaluation programs and services to meet regulatory requirement;
  • Monitor & Participate in the incident investigation program to identify root cause analysis of all incidents and near misses.
  • Contribute in the design of controls for injury prevention and health surveillance related to actual and potential hazards in the work environment
  • Develop an Occupational Safety & Health Manual, Policy & Procedures
  • Maintain and enhance the OSH Plan/ Manual
  • Report to Senior Management on OSH performance
  • Monitor and communicate information on OSH issues, national and international, legal requirements, stakeholder concerns and best practice from internal and external sources
  • Be responsible for the regular review and update of all OSH documents
  • Provide professional OSH advice
  • Review OSH reports sent to DOH & OSHAD
  • Motivate employees to strive towards continuous improvement, in order to achieve the set OSH Objectives and Targets
  • Ensure that all employees are trained as per OSH and job requirements
  • Arrange and participate in the periodic OSH meetings in the Organization
  • Arrangement for external training and internal training program for employees
  • Participate in the incident / accident investigations, inclusive of near miss incidents
  • Continuous Professional Development
  • Pursue continuing education relevant to practice
  • Demonstrate evidence of successful participation in mandatory courses required by DOH
