•Job Overview•:
The Accountant/ Admin will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations, and contributing to strategic financial decision-making. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting, a keen eye for detail, and experience in the marine or logistics sector.
•Key Duties and Responsibilities•:
1. •Financial Record Keeping•:
- Maintain and update financial records and databases.
- Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and post journal entries, reconciling discrepancies as needed.
2. •Financial Reporting•:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports (e.g., income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements).
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
3. •Compliance and Regulation•:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in financial reporting and tax submissions.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
4. •Cost Analysis•:
- Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Review and monitor budget adherence, identify variances, and suggest corrective measures.
- Evaluate financial aspects of projects, such as cost analysis for vessel operations and maintenance.
5. •Cash Flow Management•:
- Monitor daily cash flow and cash management processes.
- Prepare cash forecasts and manage bank accounts.
- Optimize the working capital cycle for operational needs.
6. •Asset Management•:
- Track and manage assets, including vessels and equipment, ensuring proper accounting for depreciation and capital expenditures.
- Maintain detailed asset records and oversee periodic asset audits.
7. •Invoice and Payment Processing•:
- Review and process vendor invoices and ensure timely payment.
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoice generation, follow-ups, and collections.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and customers to resolve payment discrepancies.
8. •Financial Analysis and Strategy•:
- Assist in financial analysis to provide insights and support strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with the management team to implement financial policies and strategies to enhance profitability.
- Provide financial insight to support contract negotiations and business expansion.
9. •Collaboration and Reporting•:
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., operations, logistics, HR) to gather financial data and support cross-departmental projects.
- Report directly to the Finance Manager or CFO and provide support as needed for special projects and tasks.
•Qualifications and Skills•:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master's Degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accountant especially working in Tally.
- Proficiency in accounting software (CRM Softwares, Tally) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and collaboration.
