To undertake a comprehensive, highly specialist Occupational therapy assessment of patients including those with the most complex presentation, using advanced investigative and analytical skills
To select appropriate treatment techniques, this may include improving independence in ADLs, provide the necessary assistive devices, conducting seating assessments etc.
To safely use the splinting techniques in accordance with the PIMC guidelines formulated.
To conduct a seating assessment to provide a suitable seating system for patients.
To review and evaluate patient\'s condition at each session and amend the treatment program as necessary to achieve planned objectives
To maintain comprehensive and accurate assessment and treatment records in line with legal and departmental requirements, and communicate assessment and treatment results to the appropriate disciplines in the form of reports and clinical handovers (SBAR).
To efficiently and effectively manage designated case load with regard to clinical responsibilities and use of time
To work with members of the multi-disciplinary team, to ensure optimal outcomes for the patient
To provide advice, teaching and instruction to patient, relatives and carers regarding their medical management and care needs to ensure a consistent approach to patient care, whilst promoting understanding of the aims of Occupational Therapy
To communicate effectively with patients and carers, whilst addressing cultural, religious and language barriers, to maximise rehabilitation potential, to ensure understanding of condition and address anxieties and concerns. Communication skills of persuasion, motivation, explanation, and gaining informed consent will be used with a wide variety of patients.
Being an active member of the in-service training program by the attendance and presentation at staff meetings, tutorials, training sessions, external courses and reflective practice
Informal/formal supervision with Senior Occupational Therapist/ and or Manager
Participate in the staff appraisal scheme and identify objectives for personal development with the Senior Occupational Therapist/ and or Manager.
To attend mandatory training sessions, including annual fire and safety lectures, cardiac resuscitation lectures and safe patient manual handling training
To ensure the application of professional standards in day-to-day practice of Occupational Therapy
To be responsible for equipment used in carrying out clinical duties and to adhere to departmental equipment policy, including competence to use equipment and to ensure the safe use of equipment by others
To comply with the organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Any other duties that might be considered appropriate by the Senior Occupational Therapist and/or Manager.

To communicate effectively and collaboratively with nursing and medical colleagues to ensure a delivery of a coordinated multi-disciplinary service. This will include case conferences, handovers and documentation in the medical records.

Follow up and correct the deficiencies identified during the inspections/audits that relates to them.
They shall attend OHS related committee meetings and educational training sessions.

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree/ Diploma in Occupational Therapy OR Masters
2+ Years of Experience & 3 years + clinical experience
DOH and Home country licensure
Experience in a tertiary care hospital with outpatient and inpatient Occupational Therapy services.
Experience working in different clinical areas across rehabilitation, namely neuro, ortho, pediatric, seating, splinting etc.
