Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including but not limited to FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) regulations, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, and environmental protection laws.
Safety Protocol Development: Develop, implement, and maintain safety protocols and procedures specific to operations. This includes establishing guidelines for safe flight operations, maintenance procedures, and emergency response protocols.
Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for operations, identifying potential hazards and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize risks to personnel, property, and the environment.
Safety Training: Provide safety training to operators, maintenance personnel, and other relevant staff. Training should cover topics such as safe flight procedures, emergency response protocols, and hazard recognition.
Monitoring and Auditing: Regularly monitor operations to ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations. Conduct periodic safety audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Incident Investigation: Investigate safety incidents, accidents, and near misses involving operations. Determine root causes, develop corrective actions, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including incident reports, risk assessments, and training documentation. Prepare regular reports on safety performance and compliance for management review.
Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to UAV operations, including restrictions on noise pollution, wildlife protection, and air quality.
Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans for incidents, including procedures for dealing with crashes, hazardous material spills, and other emergencies.
Promoting Safety Culture: Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization by raising awareness, providing resources, and fostering open communication about safety concerns and best practices.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor\'s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.
Experience in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably in the aviation or aerospace industry.
Knowledge of technology, operations, and regulations preferred.
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including OSHA, FAA, and environmental protection laws.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train personnel and communicate safety concepts to diverse audiences.
Analytical skills and attention to detail for conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant software applications for documentation and reporting
