Duties

The incumbent conducts survey, inspection, routine and preventive maintenance, hardware repair and replacement and emergency repair of Forced Entry (FE) and Forced Entry/Ballistic Resistant (FE/BR) products (doors, windows, glazing units, louvers, and vault doors) and associated Americans with Disabilities (ADA) and Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) door hardware systems deployed by Overseas Building Operations (OBO) and Diplomatic Security (DS) at U.S. Diplomatic missions, and OBO owned and/or leased facilities to include Consular Agencies in designated region of responsibility. Studies and makes recommendations for ways to improve the effectiveness of the Physical Security Systems at U.S. Diplomatic Missions in United Arab Emirates (Dubai & Abu Dhabi), Israel (Tel Aviv & Jerusalem), and Saudi Arabia (Riyadh, Dhahran & Jeddah) at the behest of the Engineering Security Center (ESC) - Dubai and the NEA Region.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:
Note: All applicants must currently hold or be able to acquire a UAE residency visa to fill the position. For non-UAE nationals, the Mission assists in obtaining the required residency visa to lawfully work in the UAE. Refer to Eligibility Question #2 and Vacancy Question #1: If a non-UAE national has a valid UAE residency visa, they should answer Yes to Eligibility Q#2 and Vacancy Q#1 and attach a copy of residency visa.
EXPERIENCE:

3 years of hands-on field experience in major repairs and installation of electrical/electronics, pneumatic, hydraulic, and heavy-duty mechanical equipment, reading and interpreting Architectural and Engineering Design drawings is required.
Education Requirements:
Completion of high school in addition to two (2) years of apprenticeship or an advanced equivalent local level of occupational training as technician, electrician, or mechanic is required.

LANGUAGE:
English level III (Fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. This may be tested
Additional skills test may be required.
