Danat Al Emarat combines world-class medical care with top-tier hospitality standards, providing VIP suites and specialized services for local and international patients.Role overview:The Nursing Supervisor is accountable for the overall management of the hospital during after-office hours, serving as a key leader and decision-maker. In this role, they act as a liaison, problem-solver, and spokesperson, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication. The Nursing Supervisor supports staff, addresses challenges, and plays a proactive role in managing resources outside of regular working hours. Additionally, they contribute to fostering a positive environment by providing guidance and support to the team.Responsibilities
Complete and hand over daily reports to the incoming Supervisor, including bed occupancy reports required by the DOH during night shifts.
Provide leadership, mentoring, and resource management for nursing operations after office hours.
Always be available with the pager and code phones, responding to any emergency codes and conducting mock drills.
Provide clinical and administrative support across all hospital units and departments after office hours.
Ensure adequate nursing coverage for the next shift, arranging float/overtime staff as needed, and approving leave requests.
Monitor and evaluate nursing clinical quality standards and practices, always ensuring compliance.
Collaborate closely with senior management, nursing teams, and physicians to maintain high standards of care.
Coordinate patient transfers and bed allocation, ensuring effective management during periods of high demand.
Resolve any issues or complaints from patients, staff, or families, and follow up on complaints to ensure satisfaction.
Support staff development, provide counselling, and mediate conflicts, ensuring a positive and effective work environment.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in nursing with an active DOH license.
Minimum of 8 years of experience post qualification, not less than 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, with a focus on continuous professional development.
