Nursery Principal

Job Description

You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a nursery or early childhood education center. This includes managing staff, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, maintaining high educational standards, and liaising with parents and regulatory bodies. The principal plays a critical role in shaping the nursery's culture and ensuring that it provides a nurturing, educational environment for young children.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Leadership & Staff Management:



Lead, manage, and inspire a team of nursery staff, including teachers, assistants, and support staff. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement professional development plans. Hire, train, and onboard new staff members, ensuring that they understand nursery policies, procedures, and expectations. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment that promotes mutual respect and growth.

2. Curriculum & Education:



Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of age-appropriate educational programs. Ensure that teaching methods are consistent with the latest early childhood education theories and aligned with national or regional standards. Monitor the educational progress of children, providing guidance and support to staff on individual learning needs. Ensure that the nursery offers a balance of play-based and structured learning opportunities to support children's development.

3. Health, Safety & Well-being:



Ensure the nursery meets all health, safety, and hygiene regulations in accordance with local laws and licensing requirements. Establish and enforce policies related to child safety, medical emergencies, and nutritional requirements. Oversee the physical and emotional well-being of the children and ensure they are supervised at all times. Maintain accurate records of children's health, attendance, and incidents.

4. Parent & Community Engagement:



Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers, fostering open communication and trust. Organize regular parent meetings, consultations, and events to keep parents informed of their child's development and nursery activities. Address parent concerns or complaints promptly and professionally. Collaborate with local community organizations, agencies, and services to enhance the nursery's educational offerings and network.

5. Financial Management:



Oversee the nursery's budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial sustainability. Manage the nursery's operational costs, including supplies, staff salaries, and resources. Monitor tuition fees, invoicing, and payments, ensuring timely collection and financial reporting. Develop and implement fundraising strategies, where appropriate, to support nursery activities and growth.

Skills & Qualifications:



Education:

A degree in Early Childhood Education, Education Management, or a related field is typically required.

Experience:

At least 3-5 years of experience working in early childhood education, with prior management or leadership experience in a nursery or childcare setting.

Communication Skills:

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with parents, staff, and regulatory bodies.

Leadership Skills:

Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the ability to motivate and guide staff members.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
