The Nurse Supervisor of clinical services provides service in accordance with the home care policies. The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and management of all services rendered to clients and supervises nursing personnel. They participate in program planning and in-service documentation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Supervision of assigned nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing services to patients and families.
Direct evaluation of the clinical competence of assigned nursing personnel and participation with appropriate supervisory staff in the evaluation of other direct service staff.
Participation in the development of all home care objectives, standard of care, policies and procedures affecting clinical services.
Participation in the orientation and in-service education.
Utilize and assist in creating communication tools to be used to both track occurrences at various homes and increase information flow between the home care and the personnel when related to clinical services.
Assures quality and safe delivery of nursing care to all clients.
Performs and submits timely documentation on all appointed visits.
Assures that progress reports are made to the physician for patients receiving nursing services when the patient's condition changes or there are deviations from the plan of care.
Participates in the on-call rotation including coverage in bedside nursing duties whenever necessary.
Assures compliance with infection control and safety instructions.
Keep current update with the required CME's and monitors staff for compliance with required CME's and mandatory valid training certificates such as Basic Life Support and Infection control.
Monitors staff for compliance with DOH mandatory titer and vaccinations for Hepatitis B and Varicella.
Actively participates in the communication process integral to ensuring quality client care.
Follows established lines of communication and authority.
Monitors staff for timely documentation in compliance with Department of Health.
Participates in educational and in-service programs for home care staff.
Responsible for the overall waste management of the facility instructed by the Department of Health
Should instruct the house keeping staff in the facility about the waste management, the equipment used and the cleaners in the facility.
Documents all the records pertaining to the waste management and the training given to associates dealing with the same.
The Nurse Supervisor is responsible to check if the waste is collected, transported, and disposed in a safe and legal manner.
Ensure there are policies framed with respect to handling and disposing of waste and make sure it is implemented by the customers engaged in this process.
QUALIFICATION:
Must have an Active DOH License as Registered Nurse
Must have at Least 2 years of Experience in Home Care Industry
Must have a strong knowledge in Healthcare audits such as TASNEEF (JAWDA Data Certification), DOH Ranking, Daman, and ADHICS. And had an active participation JCI or CARF accreditation.
