Responsibilities & Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES Strategically manage and guide the network operations for the Brigade and Battalion Headquarters, ensuring compliance with DoD and Army network policies. Maintain an active role in documenting network requests and approvals, and prepare DISA Cloud Access Point (CAP) packages for Defense Switched Network (DSN)/Voice systems. Coordinate with Cybersecurity personnel to ensure network diagrams are updated for voice and data networks, and ensure standards compliance for network and information systems configuration. Perform data entry and run inquiries for Information Systems Security Program (ISSP), enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), and Enterprise Reporting Service (ERS). Provide Information Assurance recommendations for information systems and network projects in accordance with DoD, CENTCOM, and U.S. Army regulations. Review and compile vulnerability or configuration status reports, provide network status briefs, and support the Information System Security Manager (ISSM). Ensure the proper application of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and maintain thorough documentation of all network processes and approvals.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Security Clearance: Must possess an active SECRET clearance. Citizenship: Must be a US citizen. Certifications: Information Assurance Management (IAM) level II certification as per DoD 8570 requirements, and IAT level II certification. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience; PhD with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced Degrees and Certifications: Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Additional certifications relevant to network management, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Specialized Experience: Over ten years of network management experience specifically in defense or military environments, demonstrating a deeper understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of these sectors. Strategic and Analytical Abilities: Proven track record of strategic planning, risk management, and contingency planning, demonstrating the ability to foresee potential challenges and proactively devise effective solutions. Advanced analytical skills, with experience in leveraging data analytics, performance metrics, and project evaluation techniques to drive project improvement and innovation. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with experience in presenting complex technical information to non-technical audiences, including senior military and government officials. Proficiency in negotiation and persuasion, capable of securing stakeholder buy-in on critical project decisions and directions. Security and Compliance: Advanced knowledge of DoD and Army network policies and protocols, with experience managing projects involving sensitive and classified information. Experience in compliance and audit processes related to IT security and data protection. Amount of Travel: Travel may be required up to 25% of the time for training and customer support, both CONUS and OCONUS. A valid U.S. unrestricted passport is required for OCONUS site support.
