Job Title: IT ELV Network Technician

Location: Dubai, Sharjah

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT ELV Network Technician to join our team in Dubai, Sharja. The primary responsibility of this role is to independently handle and support Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, including CCTV, Access Control Systems, Gate Barriers, Master Clock, Nurse Call Systems, and structured cabling. The successful candidate will work under the direction of ELV Project Engineers and will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ELV systems.

Main Responsibilities:

• Installations and Maintenance:
• Installation, termination, splicing, labeling, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network cables and ELV systems such as Access Control Systems (ACS), Public Address (PA) systems, Nurse Call Systems, etc.
• Perform space planning, including cabinet, rack, device, and equipment installations, ensuring all network cabling and fix support are correctly implemented.
• Site Visits and Support:
• Conduct site visits to provide support for existing ELV systems and perform preventive maintenance checks.
• Prepare and submit visit reports, ensuring customer signatures are obtained for record-keeping.
• Project Collaboration:
• Work in collaboration with project engineers to support the installation and maintenance of ELV systems on new projects.
• Ensure the proper installation and testing of hardware devices for new projects.
• System Testing and Troubleshooting:
• Terminate and manage patch panels and ELV panels, ensuring proper organization and labeling.
• Analyze and troubleshoot failure devices using appropriate tools and techniques during the testing process.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain detailed records of installations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting efforts.
• Provide accurate and timely reports to project engineers and management as required.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• Technical Expertise:
• Proven experience with the installation and maintenance of ELV systems, including CCTV, Access Control Systems, PA systems, and Nurse Call Systems.
• Proficiency in terminating, splicing, and testing network cables and ELV systems.
• Familiarity with space planning, cabinet, and rack installations, and network cabling techniques.
• Problem-Solving Skills:
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Ability to use testing and troubleshooting tools to identify and fix system failures.
• Communication and Documentation:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports and documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, project engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
• Willingness to travel to various site locations for installations, maintenance, and support activities.
• Other Requirements:
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to different project sites as needed. (Optional)
• Flexibility to work outside regular business hours if required for project completion and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education:
• Diploma or a related field.
• Experience:
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in ELV systems installation and maintenance.
• Experience working in a similar role within the UAE or Gulf region is an advantage.
• Certifications:
• Relevant certifications in ELV systems, network cabling (Optional)
