Job Purpose
Responsible for assisting the Dispatch and Flight Operations Support teams with the safe, timely and accurate production of route planning and flight planning data, runway analysis and other navigation data for use on Air Arabia aircraft. Responsible for building and maintaining route planning opportunities and engaging with the required parties to deliver total cost opportunities and or improve operational resilience relating to airspace routing structures.
Key Result Responsibilities
• Actively contributes to Flight Planning system backup database contents
• Airfield and route assessment for scheduled, recovery and budgeted operations
• Overflight application, monitoring and updating including invoice validation
• Local flight regulation compliance
• Charting and Navigation database content, revision and validation
• Coordination and consult with foreign Civil Aviation authorities for AIP data clarifications, corrections and opportunities.
• Coordinate and consult with Air Traffic Management divisions to identify opportunities to address business constraints.
• Build an operational team toolkit for addressing day of operation navigation and ATM specific challenges
• Maintain and develop route data for budgetary and analysis purposes including total cost orientated opportunities
• Maintain an overview of all overflight costs and navigation fees - ensure currency and accuracy of data
• Work closely with all team members on new route structures and policies, ensuring accurate route planning data in technical manuals at all times
• Provide timely and effective reporting of all navigation factors to the required stakeholders
• Maintain a close working knowledge of all other aspects of the Flight Operations Support team
• Provide assistance related to Navigation & ATM for new and ongoing projects
• Act as required validator and crosscheck point for colleague data adjustment within Flight Operations Performance Engineering
• Conduct and consolidate annual destination review data for provision to Line manager, prioritizing risk and opportunity action items
• Collaborates through observer status with the other Airline Hubs within the Group to anticipate and leverage opportunities to reduce the total cost of operation and / or improve resilience
• Monitor and optimize CO2 emissions through improved airspace management, efficient route planning, reduced flight time, and the promotion of SAF sustainable aviation fuel.
Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
• Bachelor's degree
• Proficient in route navigation software -LIDO / Navblue / Jeppesen etc
• Enroute and Oceanic ATC - ATOP System & Procedures
• Knowledge of Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems and procedures, including airspace structure, air traffic flow management, ATC coordination and all the related applicable regulations.
• Knowledge of regulations or related certification relevant to LOA Type 1 / Type 2 and navigation database management ARINC 424 would be an advantage
• Proven experience in procedure construction and development would be an advantage
• Fluent in English (Arabic & other languages are a plus).
Work Experience
• 3+ years flight planning / ATC controller / flight support or system vendor operations orientated role
• AIP data and technical data understanding. Practical application of route planning and route database maintenance an advantage
• Comfortable doing "search and discovery" or "what if" analysis where the answer or path to answer or path to answer is unclear Strong inclination towards a creative mindset.
• Employs a balance of technical expertise, and interpersonal relations to execute new initiatives that support company's objectives.
