Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Music Teacher to join our team. This role involves designing and delivering a diverse and dynamic music curriculum that caters to students of various ages and abilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment that nurtures students' musical talents and encourages a deep appreciation for music.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that covers music theory, history, performance, and composition.

Plan and deliver engaging music lessons that meet the educational needs of students from FS/KG to Year 13/Grade 12.

Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.

Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students and enhance their musical skills.

Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support to help students achieve their full potential.

Organize and lead school music events, including concerts, recitals, and competitions.

Coordinate and oversee extracurricular music activities, such as school choirs, bands, and ensembles.

Encourage student involvement in music-related extracurricular activities and performances.

Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to integrate music into the broader school curriculum and activities.

Participate in school meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities.

Stay current with developments in music education and incorporate best practices into teaching.

Maintain a well-organized and resourceful music classroom.

Implement effective classroom management strategies to create a conducive learning environment.

Communicate regularly with parents about student progress, achievements, and opportunities for involvement in music programs.

Build positive relationships with the school community and contribute to a collaborative school culture.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, Music Therapy, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
