:The MRD Assistant assembles patients\' health information, make sure that patients\' initial medical charts are complete, all forms are completed and properly identified and signed, and that all necessary information is saved in the system.Responsibilities:Key Responsibility Areas Activities Operations - Ethical Practice
Maintains patient chart folders and retrieves medical records upon request from clinical and non-clinical requestors.
To receive medical records and to arrange and file them in the appropriate location.
To assemble and process records as per recommended procedures.
Identifies errors in the master patient index (MPI) and initiates corrective measures according to established procedures.
Assist the Nurses with data entry job of patient\'s records
Keeps health care providers informed by communicating availability or unavailability of the record.
Keeps the head of department informed of problems or issues; monitors supplies needed; performs other duties as assigned.
To be capable of working in all units of medical records and to carry out the work of that unit as per recommended procedures.
Prepare files for the scanning process.
Understand and follow department\'s organizational policies and procedures.
To maintain confidentiality of patient information and prevent disclosure to unauthorized persons.
To release information to the patient/authorized persons as per the requests
Perform periodic inspections of materials or files to ensure correct placement, legibility, and proper condition.
Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive information, records, and reports.
Communicating with peers, co-workers and supervisors and providing them with information in mail, email fax or telephone or in person.
Attends Coding workshops as conducted by DHA and Insurance companies.

Qualifications:Qualifications Required
Any Diploma or High School Certificate
AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders) preferred
Experience
Minimum 1-2 year in a similar organization
Skills & Competencies Required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work.
Preparation of files for the scanning.
Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
Ability to work effectively in a team and to relate positively to other people contributing to the smooth operation of the team.
