Job Title: Model Maker - Architectural Models and Prototypes

: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Model Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in crafting physical structures, including prototypes and architectural building mock-ups, using a variety of materials and techniques. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, creativity, and technical knowledge to produce top-quality models.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed architectural models and prototypes based on design specifications and blueprints.
• Utilize various materials such as wood, plastic, foam, metal, and composite materials to construct models.
• Apply different techniques, including cutting, shaping, sanding, painting, and assembling, to achieve precise and high-quality finishes.
• Interpret and work from technical drawings, CAD files, and other design documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers to understand project requirements and ensure accurate representation of designs.
• Maintain and operate tools and machinery safely and effectively, including laser cutters, CNC machines, 3D printers, and hand tools.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure models meet the required standards and specifications.
• Manage project timelines and deliver models within agreed-upon deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Model Maker, preferably in the architectural or product design industries.
• Strong knowledge of various materials and fabrication techniques.
• Proficiency in using tools and machinery relevant to model making, including laser cutters, CNC machines, and 3D printers.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• A degree or certification in model making, industrial design, architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required.
