The School Counselor will provide guidance and support to students to help them achieve academic success, develop socially and emotionally, and navigate any personal challenges. This role involves working closely with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to foster a supportive and nurturing school environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Student Counseling:
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address the academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
- Assist students in developing coping strategies, resilience, and conflict resolution skills.
- Support students with personal or family issues that may impact their school performance.
- Academic Support:
- Assist students in setting academic goals and developing plans to achieve them.
- Monitor student progress and provide interventions for students facing academic challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers to identify students in need of additional support and develop strategies to help them succeed.
- Career Guidance:
- Provide information and resources to help students make informed decisions about their educational and career paths.
- Assist students in exploring post-secondary education options and career opportunities.
- Conduct workshops and seminars on college preparation, career exploration, and life skills.
- Crisis Intervention:
- Respond to and manage crisis situations involving students, providing immediate support and intervention.
- Develop and implement crisis management plans in collaboration with school administration.
- Provide follow-up support and referrals to external agencies when necessary.
- Parental and Community Involvement:
- Communicate regularly with parents to keep them informed of their child\'s progress and any concerns.
- Conduct parent workshops and informational sessions on topics related to student well-being and academic success.
- Coordinate with community resources and external agencies to provide additional support for students and families.
- Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, student progress, and any interventions implemented.
- Prepare reports on counseling activities, trends, and outcomes for review by school administration.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and relevant regulations regarding student support services.
- Bachelor\'s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field; Master\'s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of UAE experience in a counseling role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, counseling techniques, and mental health issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Empathetic and patient with a genuine interest in supporting student well-being.
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach to addressing student issues.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Culturally sensitive and aware of the diverse backgrounds of students and staff.
- Dibba Al-Fujairah: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
