Licensed Arabic Teacher (English/Arabic Speaking)

The American International School - Riyadh is seeking a qualified Arabic Teacher for employment starting August 11, 2024. Candidates will only be considered if they meet the basic criteria below, please do not submit an application if you do not meet the minimum criteria below.

Employment Criteria: The candidate must be a resident of Riyadh. The candidate must be a holder of a valid Saudi IQAMA The candidate must be under the sponsorship of his/her spouse. The candidate must be proficient in both English and Arabic. The candidate understands that sponsorship transfer to AIS-R is not possible. The candidate is available to work starting August 13, 2023. The candidate is a licensed educator/teacher with more than 2 years' of Arabic language teaching experience in an international school setting

Basic Qualifications: Licensed Educator. Bachelor's Degree in Education. Minimum 2 years' experience in a K-12 school. Experience teaching Middle School students (grades 6-8) Minimum 2 years' experience in teaching Arabic as a second language.

The AIS-R Teacher

The Purpose of the AIS-R Teacher: To cause thinking, learning and action; to educate and inspire our learners to be responsible, productive and ethical global citizens with the skills and passion to think creatively, reason critically, communicate effectively and learn continuously.

Creates a caring, respectful student-centered environment conducive to developmentally appropriate learning Plans and prepares coherent Teaching for Understanding instruction with clearly defined outcomes aligned with subject level standards and benchmarks. Systematically gathers, analyzes, and utilizes all relevant data to measure and facilitate student academic progress. Clearly communicates standards, objectives, and expectations for learning. Prioritizes learning strategies aligned with AIS-R's Learning Principles. Assesses student learning with clear criteria that are aligned with standards. Partners with families through ongoing communication, conferences and the accurate reporting of student progress honoring divisional reporting timelines/expectations.

Qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor's degree and valid teaching certificate (North American or equivalent certification preferred). A proven record of excellence in prior teaching posts for a minimum of two years. Fluency in English.

Reports to: Designated Principal(s)

Terms of Employment: Salary is assigned from the Faculty salary schedule; the contract term is 190 days. Work hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (5:00 pm on Tuesdays)

Learning and Growth: Performance is appraised through the AIS-R Professional Learning and Growth Model and in accordance with school policy by the designated Supervisor.
