We are seeking a skilled and experienced Steel / Metal Fabricator to join our team. As a Steel / Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabrication and welding of metals according to engineering drawings and specifications. Your expertise in fabrication, welding, and assembly will contribute to the successful completion of projects in our steel workshop. Responsibilities • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements. • Select appropriate steel materials based on project specifications and cut them to the required dimensions using tools such as shears, saws, or torches. • Utilize various fabrication techniques to shape, bend, and form steel components according to the project design. • Operate machinery and equipment such as bending machines, presses, drills, and welding machines to fabricate steel parts. • Weld and join metal parts using various welding techniques, ensuring strong and secure connections. • Assemble and fit fabricated steel components together, aligning and positioning them accurately. • Drill holes and perform other necessary tasks to prepare components for assembly and installation. • Conduct quality control checks throughout the fabrication process to ensure dimensions, angles, and alignments meet required standards. • Make adjustments or modifications to fabricated components as needed. • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. • Collaborate with other team members, including welders, machine operators, and fabricators, to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment. • Adhere to project timelines and deadlines, delivering quality work within specified timeframes. • Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and advancements in steel fabrication. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in steel fabrication is preferred. • Proven experience as a Steel Fabricator, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. • In-depth knowledge of steel properties, fabrication techniques, and welding processes. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. • Ability to operate fabrication machinery and equipment, including bending machines, presses, drills, and welding machines. • Strong welding skills and experience with various welding techniques. • Attention to detail and accuracy in measuring, cutting, and fabricating steel components. • Familiarity with quality control procedures and the ability to perform accurate inspections. • Good physical stamina and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot fabrication issues. • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors. • Commitment to safety and knowledge of safety protocols in steel fabrication. • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
