Job Summary:
As a Merchandising Manager, you will be responsible for managing the assortment, inventory, pricing, and promotion strategies to maximize sales and profitability. Working closely with cross-functional teams including product development, marketing, and sales, you will ensure that our products meet customer demands and align with the brand's overall objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute comprehensive assortment plans for footwear products, considering market trends, customer preferences, and brand positioning.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, sales performance, and product lifecycle to optimize inventory turnover and minimize excess stock. Implement strategies to ensure timely clearance of slow-moving inventory.
• Pricing Strategy: Collaborate with pricing analysts and sales teams to establish competitive pricing strategies that maximize margins while remaining attractive to customers.
• Sales Analysis: Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and risks. Utilize insights to recommend adjustments to assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.
• Forecasting and Planning: Develop accurate sales forecasts and demand plans to support production planning and inventory replenishment activities.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, design, marketing, and sales teams to align merchandising strategies with overall brand objectives and product roadmap.
• Seasonal Planning: Lead seasonal planning processes, including product line review, assortment selection, and go-to-market strategies.
• Demand Forecasting: Utilize statistical forecasting techniques and demand planning software to develop accurate sales forecasts for footwear products across various channels and market segments.
• Vendor Management: Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable terms, secure exclusive product offerings, and ensure timely delivery of merchandise.
• Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of inventory and minimize supply chain disruptions.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve forecasting accuracy, and enhance inventory management practices. Implement best practices and leverage technology solutions to drive efficiencies in the demand planning function.
• Performance Tracking: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the success of merchandising initiatives. Regularly review performance against targets and implement corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, Marketing, or related field. MBA preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in merchandising, product management, or related roles within the footwear industry.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and Excel.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated track record of strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision making in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with industry trends, competitor landscape, and market dynamics in the footwear sector. Experience working with retail buyers, vendors, and supply chain partners.
