We are seeking a skilled and reliable MEP Technician to join our team. The MEP Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in commercial and residential buildings. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with various MEP systems and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems according to industry standards and project specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on MEP systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with MEP systems, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Assist in the planning and execution of MEP installations and upgrades, working closely with engineers and other technicians.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to accurately complete tasks.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local building codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory management.
- Collaborate with other team members and contractors to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in MEP systems.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in MEP systems preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an MEP Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems and their components.
- Proficiency with tools and equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of MEP systems.
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety standards, and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with energy-efficient systems and sustainable practices.
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and automated control systems.
- Certification in specific MEP areas (e.g., HVAC certification, electrical licensing).
Work Environment:
- This position may require working in various environments, including construction sites, mechanical rooms, and outdoor settings.
- Physical demands may include lifting heavy equipment, standing for extended periods, and working in confined spaces.
